Genuine Ducati Marchesini Magnesium front wheel.

Wheel is New old stock, never used or fitted and has been stored for more than 15 years.

Unfortunately the typical “spidering / crazing” under the paint didn’t skip this wheel, so it will have to be treated & repainted by a professional who knows how to handle magnesium.

The wheel hub is equipped with bearings and a inner wheel spacer to accommodate a 20mm front wheel axle. This means it fits following models straight away:

• Monster 400 / 600 / 750 / 900: MY ’93 – ’99 (Pre ’00; 20mm axle)
• Supersport 600SS / 750SS / 900SS: MY ’94 -’98 (Pre ’99; 20mm axle)

These rims can also be fitted to 25mm front axle bikes. Exchanging the wheel hub to the standard one used for the 25mm axle and use different bearings will make these wheels fit to the 748, 916, 996, 998 superbikes* as well as later Monster & Superbikes (which have a 25mm front axle) too.

A different axle also means a different speedo drive or at least a different speedo drive ring. So to have this function with a std. 916 – 998 speedo drive a little adjusting of the speedo drive ring is necessary too. You see, changing one thing has effects on other things so additional checks are necessary on the job.

These all aren’t things any professional can’t do, but it isn’t just a matter of replacing bearings and inner wheel hub to fit the wheel in you current 916-998 era SBK.

Notes:

• Magnesium wheels with a road approval from this era don’t exist. This means these wheels / this wheel are for racing use only!
• * The only Ducati’s with a 17 inch magnesium front wheel and 25mm front wheel axle from factory were the 916 Racing / Corsa bikes which didn’t have a speedo drive fitted and were equipped with very different front forks.
